Job description

Mission As a DevOps Engineer you have to be something of a Jack of all trades. You need to know a little about a great number of topics like operating systems, disk management, databases, networking, performance, web sites, load balancing, security, backups, disaster recovery, project management, and configuration management. You might think that in a DevOps role you’ll spend all of your time dealing with computers and software, but you will also be dealing with a LOT of people. A typical day will have you spending as much time with other people as with the applications and tools you’re handling. Some of the types of people are: Users, Developers, Power Users, Product Owners, Other Application Administrators, DBAs, The Network team, The Security team, Help Desk. This role is not just about keeping the applications running. We are constantly looking for ways to improve the processes. As part of the DevOps team you are expected to contribute to this effort. A significant impact can be seen in documentation, best practices and process maturity.
