Campus Transit Bus Operator (9-month position)

Job description

Position Function: To drive a campus transit bus to transport passengers around Starkville/MSU Area. This position is for a full-time position employed during the academic year from August 16 - May 15. Salary Grade : 08: Please see Staff Compensation Structure or Skilled Crafts and Service Maintenance Compensation Schedule for salary ranges. For salary grade UC, these positions are "Unclassified" and salary ranges are determined by the hiring department. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Operate campus transit bus on a designated route to transport passengers around campus. 2. Provide assistance to passengers in loading and unloading as necessary. 3. Maintain vehicle interior keeping it free of debris and trash. 4. Ensure that all safety precautions are adhered to at all times; provide verbal instructions to passengers as necessary to ensure compliance. 5. Must exhibit a courteous demeanor with passengers. 6. Maintain accurate handwritten departmental records and logs in accordance with established guidelines and requirements. 7. Assist with training newly hired drivers as requested. 8.
