Holt CAT is the largest Caterpillar dealership of heavy equipment in the United States. We have a full-time, 1st shift Engine Technician - Shop position available at our Longview, Texas location. The hours of the position are Monday-Friday from 7 AM - 4 PM. This position demonstrates the ability to perform basic to moderate inspections, and basic to moderate diagnoses, and has the ability and knowledge to repair heavy equipment and/or related equipment or components, following established procedures and guidelines. Works as a member of a team to provide basic mechanical services that satisfy customer needs and achieve departmental goals. Essential Functions: - Troubleshoots and diagnoses equipment malfunctions and failures - Performs disassembly and assembly of machine components to manufacturer’s specifications through the use of hand tools, pneumatic tools, and any specialized tooling - Performs rebuilding, repairing, reconditioning, and maintenance of equipment and components - Demonstrates knowledge of estimating, planning, and controlling the cost of repair jobs - Completes parts orders and identifies parts for return - Maintains all equipment and work areas – keeps in good, c...
