Job Description The Vlaisavljevich Lab (https://ultrasound-lab.beam.vt.edu) is looking for a research assistant to explore the use of focused ultrasound (FUS) for biospecimen processing and biomolecule release. We are seeking motivated, creative individuals who are interested in conducting hands-on experiments to evaluate and optimize the performance of this technology, including studies on tissue ablation, quantification and optimization of biomolecule release, and assessment of biomolecule yield and quality. The role also involves performing molecular assays such as PCR and gel electrophoresis to verify biomolecule integrity and validate the performance of the focused ultrasound process. This position is ideal for motivated, detail-oriented individuals interested in applying focused ultrasound to advance molecular biology workflows and contribute to the development of innovative sample preparation technologies.
