Job Summary The OB Technician assists in obstetric and surgical procedures, acting as a scrub person and handling instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary for cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries. This role plays a key part in ensuring a sterile environment, preparing for procedures, and supporting obstetric teams in providing safe and high-quality patient care. The OB Technician collaborates with nurses, physicians, and surgical staff, assisting in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative tasks. Essential Functions: - Maintains sterile and aseptic technique, ensuring proper gowning, gloving, and draping of surgeons and assistants. - Prepares the surgical field for cesarean sections and vaginal deliveries, organizing and maintaining instruments, equipment, and supplies. - Demonstrates knowledge of step-by-step obstetric procedures, anticipating the needs of the surgeon and surgical team. - Monitors and ensures proper handling of surgical instruments, sponges, needles, and supplies, adhering to safety protocols and performing required counts. - Assists with patient positioning and room preparation, ensuring proper setup for obstetric and gynecological procedures. -...
