General Mechanic

Job description

Department: Plant Services Schedule/Status: Evening Shift; Full Time: Standard Hours/Week: 40: General Description: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Operations manager, the Mechanic performs maintenance work necessary to move, install, repair or erect all types of hospital equipment. Works in accordance with prints, sketches, manual or instructions interpreting mechanical requirements and calculating necessary dimensions. Follows necessary safety precautions such as lockout, tag-out. Requirements: - Has the knowledge and ability to use the required tools to complete assigned tasks safely. Has the knowledge of using the correct tool for the job. Acquire/returns tools to the correct locations in good operating condition. - Observes good housekeeping practices. Cleans up work area after each task. Keeps work area, shop and vehicles neat and organized. - Provides and consistently gives cooperative and courteous service to visitors, patients, staff, vendors and co-workers as part of the organization’s commitment to quality services.
