Description AWHS Ultrasound Technician Job Description: Job Summary: The Ultrasound Technician will work in the Ultrasound Department to produce ultrasonic OB and GYN recordings for use by physicians. Reports to: Imaging Manager. FLSA Status: Non-Exempt. Essential Duties/Responsibilities: Service: Maximize utilization of Ultrasound services - Preparing for diagnostic tests - Set up ultrasound machine for diagnostic test - View patient chart for previous studies and pertinent information - Input appropriate charges ensuring medical necessity - Inform nurse or provider of completion of exams - Ensure physician needs are met to increase resource utilization - Provide sonogram and written summary of technical findings to physician for use in medical diagnosis. - Ensure protocols and standards are up to date for accreditation - Perform clerical duties, such as scheduling exams or special procedures, keeping records, or archiving computerized images Service: Ensure Customer Satisfaction: - Perform diagnostic tests in a timely manner - Escort patient to appropriate waiting area - Explain procedures & answer patient questions - Have patient undress appropriately for test & perform appropri...
