Job description

Purpose of the Position: The Principal Research Engineer will provide leadership, perform research, manage, and support the design, development, testing and analyses of weapon systems and platform integration, conducting research in physics based modeling and simulation with an emphasis on multibody dynamics, terramechanics, and digital engineering. Research model validation through lab experimentation and testing in relevant environments. Duties/Responsibilities: Provide leadership, perform research, manage, and development physics based multibody dynamics and finite element models of weapon systems with emphasis on mechanical integration and structural responses of the weapon and the prime mover. Collaborate with other Government agencies and academic institutions to extend current ground vehicle analytical methods to missile systems Support lab operations and experimentation, to include design, setup, instrumentation and data collection, results of testing and post-test data analysis for model validation Prepare documentation and deliver test results and presentations within the community Serve as a subject matter expert to the University and the community in physics based model...
