Medical Assistant (Per Diem)

Job description

Proposed Schedule: Up to 19.75 hours per week with a minimum of 16 hours per month. Shifts will vary based on the operating hours of the Health Center. The Medical Assistant provides care to patients under the direction of the responsible Registered Nurse and Provider with a team approach to patient care. Provides age appropriate population specific patient care in a compassionate, caring, culturally and ethnically sensitive manner that promotes the organization’s mission, vision and core values. - Prepares the patient by obtaining a complete intake and adhere to the provider’s schedule while maintaining efficiency and accuracy - Patient preparation and documentation includes a chief compliant, height, weight, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respirations and pain level. A peak flow and pulse oximetry is obtained when indicated - Reviews allergies with reaction documented and reconciles medication list with patient and determines need for medication renewals and preps order for provider approval - Reviews the patient’s health history to include pertinent preventative, social and past medical conditions; uses available resources for patient education and follow-up care per provid...
