This is a professional position involving provision of direct patient care. Although most activities are performed independently, clinical oversight is required. In accordance with New Mexico regulation, 16.10.15.11, Approval of Supervising Physicians, the supervising physician must submit written notice of intent to supervise physician assistant on forms prescribed by the board and these forms must be approved prior to the physician assistant beginning employment. REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: - Graduate of a Physician Assistant program. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have by date of hire and maintain current throughout employment: - License from the New Mexico Board of Medical Examiners and/or from the New Mexico Osteopathic Board as a Physician Assistant. - DEA license - New Mexico Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) - Medicare PIN and UPIN numbers - Medicaid Number - Have or be able to obtain BLS/CPR or ACLS certification within 30 days of hire. If you are assigned to a center with ACLS medications and/or equipment, you must have ACLS certification within 30 days of hire.
