Accounting Analyst II

Job description

I. Job Summary The Accounting Analyst II will provide accounting and finance coverage for all WM Area Finance/Accounting teams and Corporate Finance/Accounting departments (i.e. finance, accounting, internal audit, treasury). The analyst will be assigned to support projects and assignments across a variety of Finance functions. II. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: - Executes moderately complex financial tasks in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines. - Performs month-end close activities for assigned areas of responsibility including preparing journal entries of low to high complexity. - Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; Prepare monthly/quarterly account reconciliations and adequately document conclusions. - Analyzes monthly financial results; able to communicate trends in results and provide meaningful insights into the results. Displays critical thinking skills in preparation of analyses. - Collects and analyze financial data and prepare monthly combined financial statements and reports.
