MEP Preconstruction Manager (Mechanical)

Position Description GCON is seeking a detail-oriented, technically skilled MEP Preconstruction Manager (Mechanical Focus) to join our growing Preconstruction team. In this role, you’ll oversee the mechanical portion of MEP scope during the preconstruction phase of large-scale commercial and mission critical projects. You’ll play a vital role in shaping designs, driving cost efficiency, and ensuring projects are set up for success before they break ground. What You’ll Do: Preconstruction Leadership: - Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project teams to influence system selection, value engineering, and constructability. - Lead the review and coordination of HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems. - Develop detailed scopes of work tailored to each project’s needs. Estimating & Budgeting: - Prepare accurate mechanical system estimates from concept through final design. - Evaluate drawings to identify risks, opportunities, and cost drivers. - Integrate MEP costs into overall project budgets with the estimating team. - Review subcontractor bids and ensure alignment with project goals.
