Part-time Day Shift Varying start times: 48 hours bi-weekly ACLS and IV start skills a + for this fast paced environment The goal of the Short Stay Unit (SSU) is to provide compassionate and professional nursing care as day of surgery preparation for patients and families undergoing surgical procedures in the general operating room, interventional radiology, cardiac/thoracic surgery, and endoscopy procedures. SSU prepares patients pre-procedurally for surgery in the operating room, endoscopy procedures, or for invasive procedures in IR, and CT. Post-procedurally the nursing staff provides Phase II recovery care for IR, CT and endoscopy patients. Hours of operation are routinely 0545-1930 Monday through Friday. General Summary: Provides professional nursing care at the beginner practitioner level in accordance with the principles of patient and family-centered care based on the nursing process and according to the clinical standards of the hospital. Acts as a primary nurse for patients on the unit. Coordinates care planning with other disciplines. May require specialized skills depending on unit assignment.
