Summary The Mortgage Insurance Specialist is responsible for managing all aspects of mortgage insurance (MI) within the servicing portfolio, including both private and government-backed insurance programs. This role ensures compliance with investor, insurer, and regulatory guidelines, oversees insurance premium payments, cancellations, and serves as a key resource for internal teams and borrowers regarding MI-related matters. Duties & Responsibilities: - Maintain accurate records of mortgage insurance coverage for loans requiring PMI, FHA, VA, or USDA insurance. - Process MI premium payments and ensure timely remittance to insurers and government agencies. - Monitor MI cancellation eligibility and process borrower requests in accordance with investor and regulatory guidelines. - Ensure servicing practices align with investor guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac) and regulatory requirements (e.g., CFPB, RESPA). - Prepare documentation and respond to internal and external audits related to mortgage insurance. - Generate and maintain reports on MI activity, cancellations, and compliance metrics. - Identify trends and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce...
