Description The Department of World Languages and Cultures in the College of Arts and Sciences at American University invites applications for a term faculty appointment for Academic Year 2015-2016. Rank will be dependent on experience and stature in the field. The appointment is a 9-month term position and will commence on August 29, 2016. Applicants should hold a PhD or other terminal degree. Highly qualified applicants with a master’s degree related to Arabic will be considered. The position will require the incumbent to teach five to six undergraduate courses per year in Arabic, including, but not limited to, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced Arabic language courses. All faculty are expected to hold office hours and participate in School and University activities and service. Salary is competitive.
