Job description

The Family Nurse Practitioner (Endocrinology) will diagnose, treat, and manage disorders of the endocrine system, which include the thyroid, pancreas, adrenal glands, pituitary and hypothalamus. Consults with supervising physician and abides by appropriate clinical protocols. Reports to the Director of Specialty Care / FNP related to the delivery of medical care for patients with endocrinology conditions. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers neurology patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assess medical conditions consulting with supervising physician. 2. Maintains electronic health records (EHR) for each patient seen in accordance with the Center’s established Health Information Management policies and procedures providing appropriate, legible documentation. 3. Assures continuity of care by providing medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the Center’s scope of practice. 4.
