Position Summary The Hanford Reach National Monument is the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service's first national monument, but it's not widely known even in the Tri-Cities of Washington where it's located. This internship is focused on expanding awareness of the Monument and getting people out there to recreate. There will be public outreach components and on-site activities with the public. Apart from helping increase recreation on the Monument, the Community Engagement Participant will also be working with a National Park Service SCA participant to bolster programs related to the Manhattan Project National Historical Park; both the Park and Monument are part of the Hanford Nuclear Site, and the agencies work on numerous joint projects. The iCommunity Engagement Participant will have an opportunity to develop their public participation skills and increase their understanding of recreation on public lands.
