Job Description Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for cardiac catheterization or other invasive as well as non-invasive procedures. Job Responsibility: Performs a variety of duties to prepare unit for cardiac catheterization or other invasive as well as non-invasive procedures. Prepares sterile trays for invasive procedures. Ensures all instrumentation/equipment for each procedure is presented on the table in the established fashion. Prepares patient for invasive diagnostic procedures. Admits patient by entering data into computer system. Ensures patients are correctly prepped and draped in a sterile fashion. Responds to patient’s questions alleviating concerns regarding procedure. Performs various duties during catheterization procedure. Monitors patient during procedure, i.e., electrocardiogram, blood pressure, chest pain. May administer oxygen and nitroglycerin, as needed, under direct supervision of physician performing procedure. Collects all pertinent diagnostic data and all necessary calculations for physician’s interpretation of results. Correctly balances, calibrates and records appropriate hemodynamic data.
