Work Shift: Day - 8 Hour (United States of America)I. Position Summary: Manages the operations of the Emergency Department under the direction of the Chief Nursing Officer. Ensures 24/7 management accountability and assists in promoting evidence-based practices. Leads initiatives to foster a patient/family centered environment and transform care delivery. Manages the staff that provides the delivery of patient care for a group of patients. Directs and delegates patient care assignments to health team via the Manager and the Assistant Nurse Managers based on patient care needs. Collaborates with senior management, directors, managers, and emergency department contract providers to ensure appropriate resources to internal/external customers. Serves as advocate on behalf of staff and patients/families. Works in establishing collegial relations with physicians. Handles the financial responsibilities of the department. Acts in place of the Chief Nursing Officer when assigned. Responsible for carrying out the mission, vision, values and quality commitment of Houston Healthcare. I. Qualifications: A.
