Description Skorpios is seeking a senior mechanical engineer to lead the design and assembly of high precision components and tools in support of the manufacture of high-data rate optical networking products. The successful candidate will join our highly talented engineering team in Temecula, Ca. Responsibilities and Duties: - Design mechanical components and fixtures with very tight tolerances in support of sub-micron precision pick & place tools, optical alignment tools and optical test sets. - Design and build components, fixtures and test stations in test requiring precision temperature control - Mechanical design targeting highly constrained size and weight components - Create detailed 3D drawings of high precision components in SolidWorks that enhance capabilities of existing manufacturing, test and burn-in tools - Recommend materials selection for the machined parts - Rapid creation of prototype parts - Mechanical assembly and prove-in of new fixtures and tools - Collaborate with local and overseas machine shops for parts fabrication Education: Experience: Skills/Knowledge/Abilities: - Bachelors or higher degree in mechanical engineering - Minimum 10+ years of experience des...
