Boston Medical Center Brighton Human Resources Department: JOB DESCRIPTION: Title: Maintenance Mechanic/ Fireman: Grade: E08: Cost Center #: Department: Maintenance FLSA Status: Non-Exempt: Reports To: Director of Engineering and Maintenance Date: 11/07/2002: I. Position Function: Under the direction of the Lead Mechanic, the Maintenance Mechanic performs a wide variety of duties that are critical to the operation of the facility and the safety and comfort of patients and staff. II. Job Relationships: Reports to the Lead Mechanic. Supervised by the Director of Maintenance. Works in conjunction with all other Maintenance employees. III. Authority: Has the authority to make decisions when on a shift alone. If an emergency arises or a need exists to provide service that he can not provide, he must call in appropriate personnel of contractors. IV. A. Responsibilities/Essential Functions: 1.) "Provides superior customer service to internal and external clients, customers, and patients as referenced in the Service Excellence Standards."
