Job description

Overview Performs a wide variety of technical patient care activities and clerical support related to patients admitted to Emergency Services. Assists nursing personnel by performing routine patient care activities. Responsibilities: - Assists physicians and nursing staff in the treatment of patients in Emergency Services. The scope of training and ability, to include but not limited to, patient placement and preparation, patient care, resuscitation efforts, handling medications and other duties as directed. - Transportation of patients to floor and unit per wheelchair or stretcher. - Perform phlebotomy as directed per emergency physicians. Orders in Med Host - Responsible for stocking all assigned areas, including linens, and completing shift check off sheets. - Responsible for prioritizing and processing requested orders either written or telephoned to an authorized, licensed patient caregiver for diagnostic procedures. Notes on Medical Record that such procedure has been requested and time initiated. Requests hospital beds for admit patients, and scans admit orders to pharmacy; retrieve results and old records from Access Anywhere, HH EMR’s, Medical records. Request medical reco...
