Description The Department of Modern Languages at Ursinus College invites applications for a tenure-track position in French language, literature and culture to be appointed as Assistant Professor; in exceptional cases, an appointment as Associate Professor may be considered. We seek candidates who have an active research agenda, native or near-native fluency in French and English, and a commitment to liberal arts education and student research. Ability to teach Francophone literature and culture is a plus. The 3/2 course load will include teaching at all levels of French language, literature and culture and in the college’s first-year interdisciplinary seminar, the Common Intellectual Experience (CIE). Other responsibilities include coordinating the French program, supervision of student research, advising of French majors and first-year students, participation in interdisciplinary programs (e.g., Gender, Women’s, and Sexuality Studies; African American and Africana Studies; Film Studies), and service to the department and the college.
