POSITION SUMMARY: The Registered Nurse, under the Standards of Practice of the College of Nurses of Ontario and the Department of Nursing, functions as a member of the nursing team to provide preventative, restorative, educational and/or supportive care. Excellent knowledge, critical thinking, decision making and communication techniques are employed in assessing, planning and implementing nursing care. COMPLEX CARE/MEDICAL REHABILITATION SUPPORT POSITION: The successful applicant will provide RN coverage and support for long term vacancies within the Complex Care and Medical Rehabilitation units. Episodic unit coverage may also be required while following all applicable scheduling provisions of the Collective Agreement. QUALIFICATIONS: •Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario required. •Current BCLS certification required. •Recent related clinical experience in medical/surgical/geriatric nursing preferred. •Previous experience with ventilator-dependent, bariatric and dialysis populations preferred. •Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) certification preferred. •Wound Management training considered an asset. •Demonstrated ability to be self-directed and work indepe...
