DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse - The Unit Tech/Monitor Tech assumes responsibility for the organization and clerical activities for the nursing unit. The incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those stated in this description. - Works under the direction of the Nurse Manager or the Charge Nurse. - Communicates appropriately with patients, visitors, and staff, in a timely and efficient manner. - Performs unit tasks in an effective and timely manner. - Demonstrates accuracy and efficiency in computer and clerical skills. - Gathers and distributes clinical data as assigned. - Orders supplies and maintains nurses' station in an orderly, neat manner. - Documents legibly according to hospital policy. - Utilizes equipment appropriately (printer, computer, telephone, fax machine, etc) - Actively participates in implementation of PI plan. - Employees in positions involving patient charting and related functions must possess compete...
