Standards Drafting Technician

Job description

The standards drafting technician is responsible for creating technical data files, drawings and diagrams from field information. The standards drafting technician utilizes manufacturers drawings and engineering instructions to create documents within computer aided drafting (CAD) systems. Updates and modifies existing data files and drawings. Maintains files of computer and manual drawings. Converts manual drawings to computer-assisted environment. May assist engineers, technicians and others with project related work. Assists with material specifications and material evaluations. Provides technical input to assist in development of project planning. Performs additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. Demonstration of knowledge and understanding of human performance improvement techniques. Associate's degree in drafting or equivalent related work experience. (Typically three years of drafting experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess an associate's degree in drafting). Four years of drafting experience.
