Job Summary: The Level 1 Diesel Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a fleet of diesel-powered vehicles. Under the supervision of experienced technicians this position is responsible for performing basic maintenance and minor repairs on trucks and trailers. Essential Job Functions: Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations Conduct inspections to identify and diagnose minor mechanical issues according to Department of Transportation (DOT) Standards Assist senior technicians in making necessary repairs and adjustments Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed Maintain a clean and organized work area Comply with safety guidelines and federal and state regulations at all times Use diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment Read precision instruments such as voltmeters, digital multimeters, calibrators and other electronic diagnostic tools Troubleshoot and perform failure analysis of the component parts and systems on the truck or truck tractor; or the component parts and systems of the truck Communicate with drivers, dispatchers and management to determin...
