Department: Laboratory Shift: Variable (United States of America) Employee Type: Regular - Per Diem Per Diem Type (if applicable): Non-RN Per Diem 1 Minimum Pay Range: $50.45 - $60.54 Job Description: POSITION SUMMARY: The Clinical Laboratory Scientist performs various chemical, microscopic, microbiological and hematological tests to obtain data for use in diagnosis and treatment of disease. Records laboratory test data, patient and quality control information. Is actively involved in quality control procedures, review and corrective action and maintains care of expensive laboratory equipment and instruments and judicious use of materials. Assists in training new lab personnel, externs and students and carefully handles infectious material to protect all laboratory personnel. Utilizes knowledge of human physiology and science to evaluate test results for accuracy.
