POSITION DESCRIPTION: Provides administrative support to the technicians, doctors and day-to-day operations of the Motility Lab. All patient related details and lab activities are coordinated to ensure the smooth operation of the unit and adherence to the policies and procedures of the hospital and the Department of Nursing. QUALIFICATIONS: -Minimum one year, up to 2 years’ experience providing administrative support in a clinical hospital setting -Post-secondary diploma/certificate in medical office administration or equivalent combination of education and experience -Medical terminology certificate -Computer literate with basic level proficiency in both IBM and MacIntosh computer systems applying MSWord, MSExcel, Dovetale RESPONSIBILTIES: -Coordinates bookings and new patient referrals from specialists and family physicians and other hospital departments as appropriate i.e. Endoscopy, Out Patient and Inpatient Units -Registers all patients prior to testing and mails information and confirmation of tests to all patients, with follow-up phone calls where appropriate -Transcribes various GI Motility reports -Processes test data results into report form then forwards to lab director...
