Job description

Ensures lead-based paint abatements are assessed and completed in a manner that reduces lead poisoning risks through proper design, construction, and clearance. Works with contractors, inspectors, home occupants, and other staff to see that abatements are conducted safely, effectively, and in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Performs lead assessments in accordance with federal, state, and local regulations. Maintains accurate documentation of inspections, remediation activities, contractor performance, and clearance results in accordance with program and grant requirements. Coordinates and monitors lead hazard control and remediation work in eligible housing units, ensuring activities are completed in accordance with program requirements and safety standards. Oversees contractors performing lead hazard abatement to ensure work is completed satisfactorily, on schedule, and in compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations. Prepares reports for single-family homes that identify lead hazards and specifies required remediation activities and necessary repairs to eliminate lead risks.
