Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PH2908 - Medical Center)

Job description

The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner provides quality, comprehensive out-patient primary health care services to the Center’s pediatric patients consulting with supervising physician and abiding by appropriate clinical protocols. Reports to the Lead Pediatrician regarding clinical issues and activities related to the delivery of pediatric medical care. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Examines, diagnoses, treats and/or refers pediatric patients assigned to physician’s panel, on an out-patient basis. Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions consulting with supervising physician. 2. Maintains a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the Center’s established Health Informatic Management policies and procedures to include providing appropriate and legible documentation. Completes thorough documentation of each patient’s visit in the electronic health record and ensures encounters are closed within 24 hours in accordance with the Center’s established Health Information Management policies and procedures 3.
