Summary The Economic Analyst within NYPA’s Energy Economics group provides crucial support in guiding NYPA’s investment decisions, implementing NYPA’s VISION2030 Renewed strategic plan, and advancing NYPA’s customers’ energy supply decisions through economic modeling and analysis. New York’s energy landscape is rapidly evolving to achieve the targets in the 2025 New York State Energy Plan, delivering an energy system that is “abundant, reliable, affordable, and clean while supporting economic development, equity, and a healthy environment.” NYPA established the energy economics group to remain at the forefront of the state’s clean energy transition and support the implementation of NYPA’s VISION2030 Renewed strategic plan. The Energy Economics group is an internal economic consulting team responsible for developing NYPA’s long-term outlook of the energy industry to inform NYPA’s strategic and investment decisions as well as support customer contract negotiations and guide NYPA’s positioning in NYISO market reform initiatives and NY PSC proceedings.
