About this Role Fandom is growing! We are looking for a Software Engineer II (backend, PHP) to join our Wiki Platform team. This position is based in Poznań, but can work remotely from anywhere in Poland. You will report to our Director of Engineering. You will get to create engaging user experiences used by 350 million fans who generate 4 billion page events monthly. You will work with our cross-functional teams to plan, design, and build scalable web applications and experiences. As part of the team, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving Fandom’s wiki platform running on PHP 8.3 and MediaWiki supported by more than 100 microservices written in Java & GoLang. Your team will focus on improving reliability (observability, stability and resiliency to faults) and performance, both directly, tackling specific challenges and indirectly, by providing and improving tools, services & infrastructure components for other teams.
