Senior Engineer (& above) - Modeling and Structural Analysis Engineer

Job description

The Modeling and Structural Analysis structural engineer will perform engineering design review and analysis assignments normally involving a major project or several smaller or less complex projects. These projects will all involve finite element analysis and sometimes seakeeping analysis. A variety of software will be used, including FEMAP and ABS DLA/SFA. These projects by nature of their complexity and difficulty require the fully competent application of conventional knowledge in structural engineering and/or naval architecture. Through broader and more technically challenging work assignments, the engineer will develop a thorough understanding of policies, methods and procedures. What You Will Do: Perform classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis, and fatigue analysis. Be proficient in the use of finite element modeling techniques using primarily FEMAP for finite element model development and NASTRAN finite element solution. Perform Structural Non-linear finite element analysis when required. Perform Seakeeping Analysis using ABS DLA/SFA software.
