The person in this position exercises independent judgment (or assists) in the formation of policies and procedures that have significant impact on the administration of laboratory testing programs and budgets. The individual in this position functions as the technical consultant to the laboratories under this program and has the knowledge and expertise to advise the Bureau Chief, county health department directors, physicians and TB Control Program in matters concerning mycobacteria and fungi.
