SUMMARY OF POSITION: Construct, maintain, repair, modify or revise all types of Ceramic Compacting tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, either for prototype, experimental, or production. Apply proper methods required to do Tool & Die Work. Should be familiar with complex Ceramic compacting tool-set Construction, utilizing standard tool-room equipment. Be familiar with all types of standard & visual measurement equipment. DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES: - Work with minimal supervision of designated Supervisor. Understand and follow accepted procedures of tool & die construction. - Analyze tool & die construction and determine procedures for rework due to revision, damage, or out of tolerance dimensions. Must have a basic understanding of G.D&T tolerances. Be able to understand and work with tungsten carbide to close tolerances. - Plan and layout work from complicated blue prints, sketches, diagrams or oral instructions. Use shop mathematics including a good working knowledge of trigonometry. May determine own work procedures. May determine practicable dimensions where unspecified.
