Material Planner

Job description

General Purpose Coordinate and purchase ingredients, materials, supplies, goods and services needed to support the facility’s production and distribution operations. Sourcing of these items directly or through vendors, suppliers and other sources. Manage adequate inventory levels to ensure the plant meets financial targets. Work with plant management to ensure all items are ordered from approved suppliers and meet all DFA specifications and QA requirements. Schedule: First shift, Monday-Friday: Job Duties and Responsibilities: - Order and receive all incoming raw materials, packaging materials, supplies and other items as needed - Maintain adequate inventories of materials and supplies by developing and using a solid working understanding of plant operational requirements and supplier lead times - Perform activities that determine quantities of and delivery schedules of materials - Ensure and oversee accurate counting and reporting of receipts and inventories into the proper systems - Issue company standard PO’s for all purchases and approve invoices for payment, verifying information - Follow up with suppliers to ensure on time deliveries.
