We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Bioinformatics Specialist to support Dr. Vamsi Mootha’s lab, which is co-located at Massachusetts General Hospital and Broad Institute. The Mootha lab focuses on mitochondria – often called the “powerhouse of the cell” -- and combines the modern tools of genomics and computation with classical biochemical physiology to investigate this organelle in health and in disease. The laboratory has both basic science goals (e.g., understanding the origins, diversity, and biochemistry of mitochondria) as well as very applied goals (e.g., to improve the diagnosis and treatment of a range of human conditions, from rare inborn errors of metabolism to neurodegeneration to cancer and aging.
