About Our Job The Denver Police Department is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Fleet Technician to support the maintenance, repair, and operational readiness of a diverse fleet of light- and heavy-duty vehicles and specialized equipment. In this role, you will perform routine and annual inspections, preventive maintenance, and complex diagnostics across gasoline, diesel, and alternative fuel systems. You’ll be responsible for documenting repairs, coordinating with manufacturers on complex issues, and ensuring compliance with safety and emissions standards, including Colorado state testing. This position also involves advanced mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and HVAC system repairs, as well as fabrication and welding for custom solutions. The ideal candidate is comfortable collaborating with team members, supporting law enforcement equipment needs, and delivering excellent customer service through clear communication and reliable, high-quality work.
