Transportation Consultant - Middle Mile

Job Summary This role manages daily middle mile logistics, overseeing shipment execution, on-time performance, and financial optimization from facilities to customers. It involves resolving operational issues, driving process improvements, and fostering strong relationships with carriers and stakeholders to ensure efficient and cost-effective delivery operations. Schedule: Hybrid - on-site 3x/week. Responsibilities: - Manage daily execution of Middle mile shipments from assigned Manufacturing Plants and Cross Docks to forward distribution centers and our customers. - Proactively identify, analyze, and resolve complex distribution, carrier, fleet, and customer issues to minimize disruptions and maintain seamless logistics flow. - Monitor and drive improvements in daily on-time performance for both departures and deliveries, implementing corrective actions to meet or exceed established KPIs. - Manage and optimize financial performance of middle-mile deliveries through effective asset utilization, strategic shipment mode optimization, and cost-saving initiatives. - Facilitate root cause analysis for operational challenges, contribute to the development and execution of solutions, and...
