Department: The Shriver Center https://shrivercenter.umbc.edu The Shriver Center at UMBC is a bold initiative with an extensive history of leading meaningful social change through transformational higher education and community partnerships. In working towards achieving this vision, the Center serves as a two-way bridge between community and campus through engaged scholarship and applied learning to address community identified needs. The Center sponsors a set of programs including Community Engaged Learning (CEL), the Peaceworker Program, MD Public Service Scholars (MPSS), and the Choice Program at IMBC. Position Overview: The Accounting Associate performs a variety of fiscal and administrative functions including procurement, accounts payable/receivable and payroll for the Shriver Center. The Center is funded by diverse funding sources including State, Foundation and grants with unique, and often complex, processes and procedures for each.
