May control distribution of ambulance equipment and medications at shift change. Receives and processes emergency and non-emergency calls for medical services, gathering essential information quickly and accurately. Dispatches EMS units and resources using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems and radio communications in accordance with established protocols. Prioritizes requests based on patient acuity and system demand to ensure appropriate allocation of resources. Provides pre-arrival and post-dispatch instructions as authorized by medical protocols and training. Maintains clear, professional, and accurate communication with EMS providers, field supervisors, and other public safety agencies.
