Job Context The Lead Software Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving the design, development and implementation of scalable software solutions that meet the evolving needs of the business. Leading at a pod level, you’ll provide technical direction, mentor engineers and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable products. This role combines hands-on engineering with technical leadership, setting standards, shaping best practices, and guiding the team to deliver impactful outcomes. What You’ll Do: Lead the design and development of complex software applications, ensuring they meet technical and business requirements. Take accountability for the pod’s outcomes, implementation of software architectural principles, development patterns and best practices for new and existing code and services. Utilise advanced programming skills to write, test and maintain high quality code. Apply broad expertise in software engineering to develop innovative solutions and improve functionality. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineering team. Direct the application of existing principles and contribute to the development of new ideas.
