Job Description Montgomery College’s Workforce Development and Continuing Education Unit is seeking one full-time Adult Education Instructor to teach English Language Arts , in-person for the GED® Program, and English Language Skills for ESL at the Montgomery County Correctional Facility, a maximum-security facility located in Boyds, Maryland. The work schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. This is a non-bargaining, exempt, grade 25 position. Under general direction and/or supervision, the incumbent in this position plans and delivers instruction targeting learner needs and goals of adults with variable literacy levels, as well as at risk populations. The incumbent provides adult basic education as needed in order to (1) pass the English Language Arts section of the GED ® exam, and (2) develop basic English language skills (ESOL), using established curricula, materials and assessment data. The instructor will be expected to complete detailed, daily reports; abide by all College policies and procedures; and abide by all policies and procedures set by the Montgomery County Department of Corrections.
