Our work focuses on inner ear blood flow regulation, the cellular and molecular mechanisms behind age-related hearing loss, and how cochlear blood flow changes after damage. We especially encourage applicants with strong a strong background in molecular biology and experience with small animal surgery to apply. Function/Duties of Position: Harvesting cochlear tissues, and immunohistochemistry, confocal imaging, PCR and RT-PCR analysis requiring mastery of complex principles and practices. Measurement of blood flow with intravital fluorescence microscopy based on lab established protocol and the measurement of auditory function with auditory brainstem response. Animal husbandry to maintain mouse colonies, and genotyping of transgenic mice. Administration of agents to animals through fine animal surgery (e.g. semicircular canal surgery) Analysis and reporting of data. - Write scientific papers and present data at scientific conferences. - Additional responsibilities include the maintenance of lab operations s...
