Title: Plating and Pre-Finish Operator Business Unit: Medeco Security Locks: Location: Salem, VA (on-site): Department: Operations: Shift: 1st (6:00a – 2:30p): Job Class: Hourly/Non-Exempt: Status: Full-Time: Reports To: Plating Area Manager: Position Summary: Join our team as a Plating Machine Operator on the 1st shift (6:00 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.) with potential overtime. You'll operate the metal plating machine and coordinate the waste treatment process, contributing to the manufacturing of high-security locks and supporting our mission to make the world a safer place. This is a technical position and while no experience is required, the successful applicant will be safety- focused and detail-oriented with the ability to closely follow a defined manufacturing process. Essential Functions: - Operate the metal plating machine and maintain all associated chemical baths and cleaners. - Assist with the waste treatment system. - Rack and prepare parts for plating. - Strip and rework both brass and steel. - Perform the clear coat process as well as all buffing, sanding, scouring, relieving, vibratory, and rolling processes. - Review titration tests for the electroless nickel process and adju...
