Job description

The Aircraft Mechanic I (Wheel & Tire) is responsible for support of highly sensitive HQ USAF operational plans and safe air transportation for Cabinet Members, senior military leaders, and visiting foreign dignitaries. Essential Responsibilities: - Provide off-equipment maintenance for wheels, tires and associated equipment used on assigned aircraft. - Manage, forecast and coordinate overhaul maintenance for over 50 wheel & tire assemblies spanning 4 different aircraft MDS's. - Operates all associated ground support equipment and uses hand tools, special tools, fixtures and adhesives applicable to maintenance and repair. - Researches technical data, maintenance drawings and blueprints for inspection, maintenance, and repair of assigned equipment. - Disassemble /Reassemble, inspect, repair and repack Boeing and Gulf Stream wheel & tire assemblies. - Monitors bench and shop stocks and orders material and supplies as required. - Coordinates maintenance efforts with the NDI Shop, Sheetmetal Shop, Production Supervisors and Maintenance Operation Coordination Center. - Documents applicable forms and inputs data in Maintenance Information System. - Ensures compliance with applicable safe...
