Job description

Job Summary The Radiology Technologist will produce radiographs of various anatomical parts and systems for diagnostic purposes as directed by the radiologist. Essential Job Functions: - Regular, consistent, on-site, and timely attendance. - Collect pertinent data about the patient and procedure. - Reconfirm patient's identification and verifies the physician's order. - Review the patient's chart and/or the physician's order to determine the optimal imaging procedure for suspected pathology. - Verify the patient's pregnancy status when appropriate. - Provide information to the patient about the procedure. - Verify the patient has consented to the procedure and answers any questions. - Provide accurate explanations and instructions at an appropriate time and at a level the patient can understand. - Instruct patient regarding preparation prior to imaging procedures including allergic reactions. - Analyze the information obtained during assessment phase and determines optimal imaging parameters per diagnosis. - Determine whether patient has been appropriately prepared for procedure. - Assess factors that may contraindicate procedure such as medications or insufficient patient preparat...
