Senior GNC Engineer, Propulsive Controls Department: Autonomous Systems: Employment Type: Full Time: Location: Redondo Beach: Compensation: $150,000 - $200,000 / year Description: As a Senior Guidance, Navigation, and Control Engineer, Propulsive Controls at Impulse Space, you will own all aspects of and provide outstanding technical contribution to vehicle guidance and control in all phases of development and operation while working closely with a fast paced, agile team. Responsibilities: - Design, analyze, and tune robust flight control algorithms for spacecraft: large upper stages and landers. - Generate stability analyses and control verification data for Impulse’s suite of propulsive missions. - Participate in GNC software development: both flight code and simulation. - Mentor other engineers and define the best practices for rocket vehicle control systems. - Create tools to be used for all flight vehicle GNC systems, enabling missions to be realized quickly. - Utilize SITL and HITL environments to evaluate vehicle performance and verify flight software implementations - Resolve technical issues with innovative, resourceful solutions. - Communicate design needs, intent, and ca...
