Responsible for the daily operations in the absence of the Warden. Provides daily leadership, guidance and supervision to departmental heads and other staff to ensure policies and procedures are followed and the public safety mission of the department is met. Leads, develops, counsels and disciplines staff. Assists the Warden in long-term planning, and development of security and contingency plans.
